Dr. Robert Hunter, DVM

Hunter Stallion Station Equine Veterinary Clinic was designed and built by Robert Hunter, DVM.

With over 30 years of experience in equine medicine, surgery and reproduction, Dr. Hunter has taught college courses in equine reproduction and equine health management. He specializes in equine reproduction and enjoys the daily challenges of diagnosing infertile mares and stallions and ending with a successful pregnancy.

Dr. Hunter has also received advance training in non-invasive methods to treat common health issues. These treatments include Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) and Veterinary Low Level Laser Therapy (VLLLT).

Giving back to the community is important to Dr. Hunter. He has served for many years on the Community Planning Advisory Council, advising the Sacramento County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors on behalf of residents in unincorporated areas. He has also been an active Board Member for Central Valley Rails to Trails (CVRTF) a non-profit foundation that works to convert unused rail corridors into trails for the community to enjoy. Dr. Hunter is an avid supporter of Project R.I.D.E.’s therapeutic riding program for children and adults with disabilities.

Besides enjoying an active life as a rugby player and avid skier, Dr. Hunter enjoys learning new skills as a vintner at his own winery, traveling – both for pleasure and veterinary medicine, boating, and enjoying married life with his wife, Yuli.
